Job Description

We are a 2000 head feedlot and 500 head cow/calf ranch. We put up our own feed, silage, wet corn and hay. Work cattle quite often and around cattle daily in feedlot. Most equipment is John Deere. Applicants need to be able to drive manual transmissions in trucks. Duties would include, barbed wire fencing in pastures. All facets of feedlot maintenance. Steel fence, waterers. Pen maintenance and Cattle processing. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: attach/detach implements; be able to handle working in high humidity; clean work areas; construct facilities; haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil; load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities; load and unload materials and commodities; maintain grounds and landscaping; operate self propelled machinery; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools and work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: dirt moving equipment; manure spreading equipment; pickups, cars, etc; self-propelled machinery; semi trucks; skid steers; spreaders; straight frame trucks; tractor/trailer combinations and tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: cattle. Must speak and understand English. Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range) Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities. Transport: See Addendum C Experience wanted: 2 months Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 80 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
