Junior Family Law Attorney is needed ASAP in the Northern Suburbs - Lake Forest! Will train for newly licensed attorney interested in family law.

Our client is seeking a motivated Junior Family Law Attorney to support a busy family law practice. This role is ideal for an attorney with early-career experience who is looking to build hands-on expertise in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, visitation, and related domestic relations issues. Based on general knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Assist with a caseload involving family law matters such as divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, and domestic violence cases. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Support case preparation for hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Communicate with clients to gather information, provide case updates, and help manage expectations throughout the legal process. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Attend court appearances, depositions, and mediations as needed under attorney supervision or independently, depending on experience level. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal support staff to develop case strategy and maintain accurate case files. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Ensure compliance with court deadlines, filing requirements, and ethical obligations. Based on general knowledge.

Qualifications

\n
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Active license to practice law in the applicable state and good standing with the state bar. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• 1+ years of legal experience, with exposure to family law preferred. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with clients in emotionally sensitive situations. Based on general knowledge.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• Internship, clerkship, or prior experience in family law. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Familiarity with court rules, case management systems, and family law procedures. Based on general knowledge.
\n
• Demonstrated communication, adaptability, and critical thinking skills. Based on general knowledge.
\n
